Socket Puts Fiber in their Internet Diet for a Faster, Smoother Internet Connection
January 6, 1999 - Recently, Socket Internet converted to all Fiber Optic cable in their Columbia location. For Columbia customers, this means a more reliable Internet connection. Also, Socket added additional phone lines to keep up with the demand they are experiencing for local dial up Internet access and to keep busy signals to a minimum.
“Fiber Optic cable allows Internet users to experience less outages and faster data transmission than they would on analog systems,” stated Greg Baker, Director of Marketing. “For Socket, fiber optic cable allows us to add capacity much quicker when the need arises. It also makes problems easier to troubleshoot so we can accurately start the repair process faster.”
